While your home is on the market, it is accessable to the inspection of numerous individuals: buyers, agents, appraisors, inpectors, builders, etc. Alway, always lock up your valuables as a precaution. Keep your doors and windows locked even if you see an agent coming to the door. It not only protects you from imposters, but also forces the agent to use the lockbox, which keeps an access log that allows me to track who has been in your home and when. It also allows me to receive or call and get feedback on the showing of your home.
Jared Taylor with Taylor Real Estate in Eastern Idaho uses GE's latest lockbox technology to protect your home and properties. I hope you'll feel better knowing these safeguards are in place for you:
- Only licensed real estate agents and some appraisors are issued the special electronic key that opens lockboxes.
- The agent must enter their personal PIN into the electronic key, which prevents others from using it if stolen.
- An agent's electronic key is deactivated if their license is expired, suspended, or revoked.
- The lockbox can be programmed to only open on a timed schedule, usually 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., so that you can rest assured knowing no one can access the lockbox during the evening hours.
- The lockbox maintains a detailed log of the exact time it is opened and which agent opened it. You may request a printout of this log at any time.
- I receive a daily email of the detailed log letting me know when your property is accessed.
- Lockboxes on my listings request feedback on the agent's electronic key allowing me to provide you with instant feedback on the showing.
